She started Woodland Writers to create a haven for writers and storytellers. A place to unravel your thoughts and put them back together in the form of story.

All comes to WW from a passion for creativity. Sometimes that looks like writing that manuscript. Sometimes it looks like a fiddle player on stage who is devoured by their instrument. Sometimes it sounds like the passion in a poet’s voice as their read their work aloud. It’s all part of the creative act. She loves to help people find their flow and unlock their creative potential.

Alli’s hope and dream for anyone who walks through Woodland Writer’s doors is that they realize they have been a storyteller all along and that they feel inspired to tell the story within them, whatever it may be.

CONTENT WRITER

Jacklyn Walters spends more time in the imaginary than the real world, and she wouldn’t have it any other way.

Like Belle, Jacklyn prefers to live “with a dreamy far-off look, and her nose stuck in a book.” She has always found escape in reading. Ironic, since the books she read as a teen were primarily dystopian novels. But they lit up something in her. They showed her that being a strong-willed woman doesn’t mean you’re difficult, it means you’re going to save the world.

Now her passions lie in creating and making sure others can tell their stories, too.

When she isn’t working on marketing campaigns, Jacklyn can be found exploring local parks, planning grand adventures, laughing with friends, and, of course, reading.

LEAD REVIEWER

Alexandria Bellani is an award-winning short fiction author and (of course) an aspiring novelist. As a certified Contest Goblin, she has won or shortlisted several times in competitions such as the Twisted Tournament, Twist in the Tale, NYCMidnight, the Not Quite Write Prize for Flash Fiction, and Science Fiction Shorts. In mid-2025, her focus shifted to helping other writers craft compelling short fiction, providing comprehensive feedback to entrants in competitions like Woodland Writers and Odd Embers.

As someone who identifies as remarkably average but annoyingly persistent and passionate about the craft of writing, Alexandria believes everyone can build (or adapt their existing) skills to write captivating short fiction.

LEAD REVIEWER

Kenna is a developmental editor and writer with a BFA in Sound Design and an MFA in Writing from SCAD. She believes setting should work as hard as any character. And she believes a reader only feels something when a character is torn between what they want and what's actually driving them, and has to live that out through the world and people they move through.

She writes Mercury Retrograde and Other Excuses, a column for Encore magazine where she uses astrology as an excuse to dig into what people are actually carrying. You can find her buried in her own urban fantasy novel when she isn't buried in someone else's, has an unholy love of vampires, and is thrilled to spend this competition rooting loudly for whoever is brave enough to be the main character.
